Perspective: The Quiet Power That Changes Everything
The other morning, I had just finished parking my car and was walking into work when my mind started racing. You know those moments — you start thinking about everything all at once. But for some reason, the word perspective popped into my head.
I know what it means — we all do — but sometimes it’s helpful to read the actual definition, to let the words settle. So I pulled out my phone and googled it:
“The interrelation in which a subject or its parts are mentally viewed — places the issues in proper perspective. Also: POINT OF VIEW. The capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance — trying to maintain my perspective.”
And it made me pause.

“In five years, how much will this matter?”
Sometimes the answer humbles me.
